脫色活性炭采用無煙煤、木屑、椰殼、杏殼、核桃殼等堅硬果殼為原料，經(jīng)科學(xué)方法精制而成。外觀為黑色細(xì)微粉末狀，無毒、無味、具有比表面積大、吸附能力強(qiáng)、脫色速度快、易再生等優(yōu)點。適用于制糖、制藥、飲料、酒類、食品、印染、造紙、油脂、化工、工業(yè)廢水等水質(zhì)的凈化行業(yè)，對有機(jī)物溶劑的脫色、除臭、精制、提和污水處理方面也廣泛使用；化學(xué)分析中的液相吸附和試劑、藥品、針劑等的提。
活性炭吸附能力的另一個表現(xiàn)就是脫色能力，活性炭具有能將有色液體變成淺色或無色的神奇能力，這其實就是因為活性炭吸附了有色液體里的色素分子的結(jié)果，正因為活性炭的這種特性，被廣泛應(yīng)用于制糖工業(yè)領(lǐng)域中紅糖變白糖的生產(chǎn)過程中。

脫色活性炭的制造基本上分為兩過程，過程包括脫水及炭化，將原料加熱，在170至600℃的溫度下干燥，並使原有的有機(jī)物大約80％炭化。第二過程是使炭化物活化，這是經(jīng)由用活化劑如水蒸汽與炭反應(yīng)來完成的，在吸熱反應(yīng)中主要產(chǎn)生由CO及H2組成的混合氣體，用以燃燒加熱炭化物至適當(dāng)?shù)臏囟龋?00-1000℃），以燒除其中所有可分解的物質(zhì)，由此產(chǎn)生發(fā)達(dá)的微孔結(jié)構(gòu)及巨大的比表面積，因而具有很強(qiáng)的吸附能力。
木質(zhì)脫色活性炭脫色效果在水中強(qiáng)，有機(jī)溶劑中較弱。一般加0.1—3％（W／V），攪拌30～60分鐘，活性炭的粒度對脫色時間有影響，而且不同生產(chǎn)廠家，不同加工方法生產(chǎn)的活性炭，脫色效果相差很大，脫色溫度和PH要根據(jù)產(chǎn)物的性質(zhì)，通過試驗確定。
1、活性碳一般使用溫度是75-80度比較好。
2、脫色活性炭在水中效果強(qiáng)，強(qiáng)極溶劑中使用效果也不錯，在非極性溶劑中效果較差。
3、一般情況下，在pH3-6條件下使用較好。
4、一般使用加入量為千分之一至三。
5、脫色時間一般為30-60min。
油脂脫色活性炭產(chǎn)品廣泛應(yīng)用于液相吸附、氣相吸附，主要應(yīng)用于化工業(yè)、食品業(yè)等領(lǐng)域方面，特別適用于石油化工業(yè)中的精制汽油、溶劑汽油、潤滑油、工業(yè)油、礦物油、柴油；食品工業(yè)中如食用油、菜籽油、油脂等。
糖液脫色活性炭適用于精糖，木糖，果糖，葡萄糖，果汁及醇酒、食品化學(xué)，釀造工業(yè)的脫色精制，同時也適用于檸檬酸等其它有機(jī)酸的大分子色素脫色，精制和提，而且在設(shè)備內(nèi)可以再生。
